Grandma, Papa and Ross

Typically in the mornings my parents have been entertaining Ross as I attempt to get some rest and Joel buckles down to work. Grandma takes Ross outdoors and teaches him about all the sounds and sights. Ross too has been teaching Grandma. He is helping her to remember how to do things one handed. She is headed home this week and we do not know how Ross is going to handle the abandonment.

When Grandma takes Ross outside and Papa sees Ross, he takes a break from his back breaking work to impose his wisdom. Papa has donned Ross with a few of our family heirlooms. First he has affectionately begun to refer to Ross as 'Mutsy.' And Second, he has been teaching Ross that in our family we don't have toes but 'pigs.' And it is Papa's job to 'get your pigs.'

This afternoon Grandma was running errands, Joel was working, and I was baking bread. And then Ross begins to demand attention. Grandpa then proceeds to remove the wee one from his seat and console him. What a treat! (This is not typical Papa behavior- guess Papa has a new favorite.)

Funny bit of trivia, my parents first son-in-law, first grandchild, ninth grandchild, and 21st grandchild all were born on the same day, June 30th. Too bad only one is the favorite.
