Cat Tales

About one month ago the dogs were quite interested in something in the back yard. Since, SOME of the dogs still escape the yard(much to my aggitation) I called them in. They did not come, I yelled, and they still did not come. Then, I used the tone! You know the one. And in trotts Smithers- with some splatters on his face. What could it be?
When Scout(aka Mr. Obedient) refused to come I knew something was up. I told Joel where they had congregated. He grabbed a light and sure enough found it- a shredded cat. Poor homeless cat- it was now going to have a permenant home- the Dump!

FWD>>>>> To last night.

It was time for everyone's bath- including our Beaut of a cat Ginger. Joel offered to help. He held her and I scrubbed and rinsed. I think the best part of all of it was not Joel's resulting wounds(have you ever tried to bathe a cat?); it was the time frame. You see, the weeks before Ginger's bath she had begun to like Joel. I mean really like Joel. Almost as much as my niece Jac loved HER Joel. If he was sitting and she was allowed in the room, she was in his lap- Cuddling!!! [This cat lets few people see her, and even fewer touch her soft fur(I think Ang and I are it.)] Yes, curled up in his lap, her head on his chest- Purring!!! And he says he doesn't like cats. In the words of Caryn Joyce, "Yeah Right!"
Needless to say, she has been in hiding ever since. I think I put an end to that extra marital affair.

Assuming the cat was homeless and not someones beloved pet that got out as mine occasionally does....even then, what a terrible way to die. blec.

It was not someone's pet. The rear of our property is over run with stray cats and they like to harrass the dogs.
